Vocabulary homework

The rectangles below contain links to the booklets that make up our vocabulary homework programme. Each booklet has 12 lists of words for children to learn. Children should learn at least one list per week and the booklet should be kept in the child’s reading folder. (We do not suggest that you print these electronic booklets as they may use a lot of ink. However, they are a handy reference for you and your child.)

Children take tests on the meanings of the words in school. You will receive information about your child’s performance in the vocabulary tests. Remember – these are tests of word meanings – NOT word spellings.

We do not charge for these vocabulary homework booklets. However, making the booklets takes a considerable amount of time and effort: if a booklet is mislaid we will have to make a 30p charge for a replacement.

All teachers are required to keep records of which booklets have been issued to particular children.

Thank you for your support with our vocabulary homework programme.
